KU Leuven, coordinator of the project, has a rich tradition of education and research that dates back six centuries.
The architectural engineering section has a strong record in systems engineering and computer modelling and broad expertise in LCA at building and neighbourhood level. The building physics section developed the IDEAS library for district network simulation which will be extended by the thermo-chemical technology. KU Leuven with the project H-DisNet is part of EnergyVille, which is a union of KU Leuven, VITO, imec and UHasselt for sustainable energy and intellgent energy systems.

Watergy, a start-up based in Germany, works on economic and green solutions within energy efficient buildings, greenhouse climate control and water efficiency. The focus of Watergy is on the interface between water and energy combined with processes of absorption and desorption.
The expertise includes energy engineering, HVAC technology, architecture as well as water technology and horticulture in protected cultivation.

Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften (ZHAW), is one of the largest and leading universities of applied sciences in Switzerland. 
The IEFE-Institute of Energy Systems and Fluid Engineering is involved in the project. The main strategic focal areas of the IEFE are energy efficiency, renewable energies and energy storage and networks. IEFE brings  large expertise in absorption processes for waste heat recovery.

Newcastle University (UNEW) is a member of the Russell Group: the association of large world-class research-intensive UK universities.
The Sir Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research (Swan) of UNEW, involved with the project, is an interdisciplinary research centre that provides the focus for energy related research: chemisorption cogeneration and energy storage, recovery and use of load grade heat, thermal energy management, district heating and cooling and smart grid, and the use of biofuels and other forms of renewable energy resources.

Technische Universität Berlin (TU-Berlin) is one of Germany’s largest and most internationally renowned technical universities.
The main research focus of the Energy Conversion Devices Section, involved in the project, are heat and mass transport, heat driven cooling processes, and energy storage and heat recovery with large experience in absorption chillers. They are supported by the Building Technology and Design Section working on novel approaches of energy efficient buildings and integration of renewables. A main research area is heating and cooling of buildings under use of desiccants.

Aurubis is the leading integrated copper group and the world’s largest copper recycler.  As an energy-intensive company, Aurubis faces the challenge of ensuring that the necessary energy is reliably available according to the site-specific requirements and at competitive prices. The Energy Affairs Department coordinates all of the activities relevant to energy in the Group.
Individual measures to save energy are continuously implemented in the entire Group. For example, all of the sites are working on utilizing accumulated waste heat. The headquarter is in Germany.

Thermaflex is specialized in developing and manufacturing of technical insulation and pre-insulated piping systems, certified according to "cradle to cradle” or EPD (Environmental Product declaration).The Group has been founded in 1976 in the Netherlands and has 40 years’ experience in the fields of District Energy, Renewable Energy and Building applications. The main challenges are to minimize the waste of energy and to maximize the use of renewables in these systems.

accelopment AG assists research institutions and companies in the management of EU funded innovation projects and the dissemination and exploitation of their results. Its highly qualified team has > 20 years of experience in European R&D support initiatives, such as H2020 and the Eurostars programme, and focuses notably on innovations in the Energy and ICT sectors. In H-DisNet, Accelopment`s main role is to facilitate the communication and future use of project results. This includes the organisation of innovation workshops involving all stakeholders along the value chain, the delivery of a Stakeholder Mapping, SWOT and PESTLE analyses, as well as the development of follow-up R&D projects, business models and a roadmap of exploitation for the new H-DisNet TCD network technology.
